Our 33rd Anniversary, back when the trucks were white...
One day back in 2002, we were sitting around brainstorming. At the time we only had two stores open and we were growing by leaps and bounds. Our fleet had around 27 trucks and we were talking about how we kept hearing the comments "we see your trucks everywhere!" All of a sudden, someone said we have enough truck to cover the bridge - that is where it started. Next thing you know we are calling the police department and city hall asking if it would be possible to do a photo shoot.
Let me tell you it took a lot of talking to get permission to close the bridge. To the best of our knowledge the only time the bridge had ever been closed was back in the 1985 for the filming of a 'B' movie, called Terror at London Bridge, starring David Hasselhof. For a review go to www.rottentomatoes.com/m/terror_at_london_bridge/ - You know what kind of movie it was if it was reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes... lol!
Again in 2006, we did the same thing! This time with Yellow Trucks...
Before we actually drove onto the bridge, we all met in the neighboring parking lot, where we had gourmet coffee and breakfast burritos. It was so much fun, the energy was high and as we drove onto the bridge, where the police had it blocked off, we were honking our horns and it was just exciting!
